The proposed massive open online course (MOOC) is designed to prepare students in all non-language specialties (all educational programs) in the discipline “Foreign Language-2” (Pre-Intermediate level) for use by students and teachers in the educational process. In addition, it complies with state educational standards and is compiled in accordance with modern trends and requirements necessary in the educational process. This course allows for the teaching of English depending on the initial level of communicative competence of foreign language students and is focused on the basic B1 level. The proposed course is a compulsory MOOC course selected by the Commission and corresponds to the disciplines of the educational program curriculum. The objectives of the discipline are the systematic acquisition by students of a set of communicative and intercultural competencies. Assessment is carried out on a 100% scale, of which 60% is for completing current assignments and 40% is for completing the final test. Students who score more than 50% on the current and final tests successfully complete the course.
